ABOUT 1202 PRODUCTIONS
1202 Productions was founded in 2012 by Michael LiCastri as a way to further develop creative endeavors for film, theater, and broadcasting.
An accomplished actor, writer, director, producer, and standup comic, Michael has worked extensively in film, theater, and radio for over two decades in the Central Florida area. He began acting at the age of 8 and has consistently worked in the industry since that time in a variety of capacities, all the while constantly furthering himself as an artist.
A distinguished alumnus of the University of Central Florida’s Cinema Studies program, Michael has acted in, directed, written, and produced ten short films, several of which have been seen at film festivals across the country, including Tampa’s own TBCC Film Festival, as well as ICC Film Festival in Indianapolis, and SFCC in San Francisco, California. His debut feature length film, “The Best Laid Plans,” was acquired for distribution and released globally in 2019.
He has also appeared in over a dozen plays across the Central Florida area as an actor, most recently as Martini in a production of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.” Additionally, he has written, directed, and produced a number of one-act and full-length plays, many of which have appeared at UCF’s Project Spotlight Festival and the Breakthrough Theater of Winter Park.
As a stand-up comedian, his debut album “A.D.D. Hero (The Bootlegs) 2007 – 2019” was released in October 2019, and he regularly performs stand-up around the greater Tampa Bay area.
Michael was previously the host of “The Movie Show W/Ross and Mike” from 2007-2011, which aired on WUCF 89.9, a popular NPR affiliate in the Orlando area.
In April of 2022, Michael became the first comedian in the world to premiere a stand-up special on TikTok. The special, entitled "Short Jokes for Shorter Attention Spans," was well received by audiences.
In September of 2022, Michael's play "Mary" premiered as an official selection of the 2022 Tampa Bay Theatre Festival. He wrote, directed, produced, and co-starred in the play as well, which played to a sold-out run.
